Videobob's Delorean Time Machine

Hello everyone,
My name is Videobob and this is my first post.
Let me first thank the moderators for allowing me access to the RPF.
My membership here is valued and appreciated, thank you!!

"Videobob" is the name I go by in real life, I am a video producer and I am
most known for the heavy metal videos I produce with famed PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott and his new band HELLYEAH.

On the side I also build movie prop replicas and custom cars.
So far I have built 6 Delorean Time Machine replicas, 2 Knight Riders
and a Bluesmobile. I am currently working on an ECTO-1 and a screen
used car from KNIGHT RIDER 2000.

I live in Dallas, Texas and have a dedicated shop in nearby Duncanville
where we build the cars and cast molds, fab metal, etc.
I am open to having visitors come by and would love to host prop
parties there or at my house!
My shop has a 24 hour webcam where you can watch us working when
we are in there, just go to http://www.texastvcars.com and tune in!

I recently completed my 6th Delorean Time Machine and it is a 1:1 scale
replica of the original car from the film.
I have befriended the original special effects supervisor who built the original cars for the movie, KEVIN PIKE. I went and stayed with him at his
home in LA and he helped me with some research and sourcing of genuine parts. I have also had the help of other prop builders in the hobby.

Although there have been many people build these cars, this car has many things that are a first attempt, since the original film used cars.
This car features genuine neon around the car and many other original parts.

This car was built for the purpose of selling at auction for the Discovery Channel show, "AUCTION KINGS". It will be sold this April 10th in Atlanta
at Gallery 63 and will be televised.

The official website for the car is:
http://www.timemachineforsale.com

I also listed the car on eBay as an advertising ploy to generate buzz,
but it will be sold at the auction.

I look forward to the new connections I will make here on the RPF.

We will be shooting a video of the car tonight and you will be able to hear the sound effects, yes, it makes all the sounds with the exception of the door sounds.
I preferred to omit them because it is hard to time the sound with the door.
The struts make a bit of a "whoosh" sound on their own anyway.

more pics from tonight...

Funny side story.
The Neon bands around the car are powered by a 12,000 volt transformer.
The tubes being so close to the mesh and metal create a "corona" and build up static on the metal, so if you touch it, it will shock the crap out of you.
It's like wearing pink fuzzy slippers and moon walking across a shag carpet in a room full of copper door knobs!!!

I figured out how to fix it, a simple ground strap from the bands to the panels dissipates the static charge and keeps it from shocking you.
However it does make the neon "buzz" a bit and also creates ozone like an Ionic Breeze air cleaner, it's kinda cool!
You can actually see the air flow of the fog through the bands. Neat!

I do actually like the shocking aspect though, we took the car out last night and I warned this woman, "Don't touch the car, it's wired with 12,000 volts and it will shock you if you touch it".
She was like, "Bull****" and reached out and grabbed the bands....she quickly recoiled shaking her hand as was like...."holy cow your not kidding!!!".
From then on, the crowd kept their distance and believed anything else I told them.

I proceeded to tell them that I was from the future, and this was my "boomstick", and we had better prepare for the Deadites.
