Wondercon question

I might wear my Han Solo costume. Does WC grief you for the blaster if it looks real. No orange plug?

Re: Wondercom question

I think you mistyped WonderCon.

I also think you should avoid any Imperial entanglements. Anyway, this bounty hunter did not have an orange tip (I took the photo last year WonderCon 2013).

I think you'll be fine as long as you check it in at security and get it tagged. But you can make an orange tip to put on or orange tape if you're worried. I plan on having a static prop as well for my Judge costume. I don't think it will be an issue if they see you in full costume as you check in.

Here is the convention policy:

Costume Weapons Policy No functional weapons are allowed at WonderCon Simulated or costume weapons are allowed as a part of your costume, subject to prior approval by security and compliance with the following: All costume weapons must be inspected at the Weapons Check Desk (location TBA). All costume weapons must conform to state and federal law. Projectile costume weapons must be rendered inoperable. Costume swords must be tied to your costume in such a way that they can't be drawn. After each person's costume weapon has been checked, it will be tagged by security, and you will be given a wristband to wear to designate that your weapons have been checked. Security will escort you to the security station for inspection if your costume weapon is not tagged. If you do not want to have your costume weapons inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume weapons to WonderCon. - See more at: Convention Policies | Comic-Con International: San Diego

along the same lines, think my shield will be deemed Con-approved? its an aluminum road sign rigged out to be a shield. Edges are not sharpened, but I could come in handy for any crowd control/line access issues!
(just the shield, not the road sign club)
