The 5 Day Solo project: ANH Han for 10/25 party

Hello Fellow RPF,

I realized Monday that I'd done nothing for Halloween this year. So in a case of ambition outweighing common sense I've attempted to do an ANH Han. I'm going to put forth my best effort to do accurate and quick. A few things are going to be out of scope. I'm not going to do the belt accessories, no droid caller, no disk, no cartridge, etc. I won't be doing a DL-44.

Yesterday I drafted patterns, started work on the shirt. Today finished it up except for the collar. Unfortunately I've apparently put on some weight, since my usual pattern blocks ended up a little tight. Still wearable but snug. Good motivation to get back to working out. I'm starting work on the vest now. Pictures to follow this evening. I'll keep the thread updated through out the week and let you know how I end up for the party Saturday.

I'd pickup a Rubies Han Solo toy blaster for $12 and spray paint it. It can literally be done in 15 mins if you don't count drying time.

Yes but I don't like the rubies and I'd rather go without for now and buy something like a Denix, MGC, or other all metal airsoft C96 and modify at a later date than buy a cheap stand in for now and then redo that part of the costume later.

Also my holseter/gunbelt will have to be black as that's the leather I have on hand. That one I will be redoing but I don't mind as much since I already have the material, I enjoy leatherwork and it will be good to practice the pattern.
