I built a wooden Enterprise for my Mom years ago. I didn't put some of the details into it you did though.

Looks good. I know the wood is used for such models, but to me it looks like a piece which place is on the '70 guy desk.

Glad you like it -it definitely has a 70s vibe.

Part of the reason I wanted to get this piece assembled and stained was so I could use it as a model/template for replicating the look on a resin casting.

Here's the unpainted casting next to the (almost) finished original

and the resin casting fully painted and labeled:

I wasn't able to exactly match the tones of the original wood piece, but I'm overall pleased with the way it turned out.

I'm thinking about doing another resin version painted to look like aged bronze....
