Hey, I liked the Avengers. Shouldn't this mean I'll like Into Darkness to?

The only way it could possibly have been lamer is if they somehow found a way to smush Gary Mitchell and Khan together into one character. Khan Noonian Mitchell, the super-powered genetically engineered fanboy, created when a 20th century sleeper ship collided with the galactic barrier to unleash a torrent of nerd rage.

Agreed. It'll be a very different take on Kahn, that's for sure.

He's genetically enhanced to be both brilliant AND a perfect physical specimen... This bothers me. :(

Trying desperately to be positive about this new film but ugh. Today is a bad day. Do we really need to re-tread this material so soon?

Indeed. I'll hold out some cautious optimism, but, really, Ricardo Montalban was brilliant in that role. It's very hard to imagine them as the same character. Especially considering that he's supposed to be from India.

That does make sense since Great Britain has maintained communities in India since they took it over (and eventually handed it back). Truth to tell I'm excited to see the character go in a different direction. I loved Montalban's version and still do but I am looking forward to seeing Comby's take on it.

I just wished we didn't have to go through the constant denials from JJ's camp. The handling of this was clumsy at best. Having said that, I think it's going to be great, but we didn't need all the hide the Khan sausage games...

I liked Star Trek when no one cared who the villain was so all I can say is big deal. I just want to see the ugly ship get blown up.

I can't wait for the endless speculation about who the villain will be in the next movie.

I was just ghoing to post this.

I saw the latest trailer with the Enterprise dropping into the atmosphere burning and heavily damaged. I hope they blow that ugly POS up!

Now that JJ has his hands in Star Wars, I am affraid for anything in that franchise now too!
