Star Lord helmet AND accessories!!! by Helagak!

If you mean the lenses then I used clear acrylic with brake light film

Sorry if this has been asked an answered, but has anyone nailed how to do the eyes yet? I saw the posts about the eye loupe and the name tags, but has anyone actually adapted/executed on this particular helmet?

Quick question, I've watched/read a lot of tutorials on how to scale pepakura but for the life of me I can't get it right/it prints out too small. Is there a magic number I should use if I'm 5'5" for the foam build?

Looks great. What program do you use for modeling? I'd like to model my own projects to be pep'd out. Can you direct me to a few tutorials? Would like to know how to build up and transfer a 3d model for pep unfolding. Thanks.

For those interested,

I modelled up part of the MDR 5a that will fit over the black section of some cheap headphones

It doesn't depend on your height, but the size of your head. The pepakura program only measures in straight lines (side to side, front to back, top to bottom, etc.) so the best way is to measure your head using this method (scroll down in this post) and then scale your pep file based on that measurement: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=148889&page=96&p=3376464&viewfull=1#post3376464

hi i've started printing the helmet and have sliced the front face mask in half so i could print it on its back with support. sharing them for people who would like them and don't own netfab. not sure how to upload tho

I made a very small circuit board with a coin cell battery and the resistors for the leds i have in the eye lense cup. The board assembled is only about 1/4 inch thick so its easy to fit in the helmet. uploadfromtaptalk1410227233286.jpguploadfromtaptalk1410227254501.jpg

That explains a bit. I was looking at different ones and some people said if you measured your height it would figure it out, but then another one said measure your head.
Thanks so much! c:

I'm also wondering what everyone is doing for lighting up the lenses.

I bought some red el wire, but it wasn't bright enough when put behind the red plastic. Looking at some LED strips now on amazon but I'm worried about that also not being bright enough.

Would appreciate any feedback as to what others have done and any pics would be great. Is everyone going with red LEDs? I'm starting to think yellow or white may be better to get a brighter effect.

I bought cheap $7 el wire from Amazon and it seems to be bright enough. My lenses are a clearer red that I'm going to blur with a clear matte coat of paint. When I tested the lighting effect by putting wax paper behind the lenses it seemed fine. I've never done anything with LEDs, so I'm sticking with what I know.

Hey everyone, completely new to this and looking for a little guidance. The plan is to make a foam build of the helmet and other accessories, but I need a little help navigating the download process. I click the link, which takes me to 4shared, where essentially anything clickable looks like a trapdoor into porn-level malware. I've signed up for the site. Clicking "Get the file now with utorrent" just takes me to a page with utorrent download capability and nothing else - I already have the software installed. Clicking "Download" below forces me to download another application, which forces me to reinstall utorrent and apparently add a host of other applications. I just want the file. I imagine that I'm missing something relatively obvious, so if someone could just hold my hand a little bit, I'd be very grateful. Thanks and congratulations on an amazing build.

On 4shared simply sign in using Facebook. There is a blue link that will be the proper download button
