SR-2 Normandy scratch build--first project

hesitated about posting this, some real works of art on this site, but got to start somewhere. this is a 100% balsa build of the Normandy SR-2, 3 feet long so far, have one wing done, ton more work to be done. my "plan" for this is to make the finished model a Divinchi-esc wood model of the Normandy SR-2. the wood will get a dark stain and i was thinking of using calligraphy paper to mimic the canvas look...
let the laughing commence. or not either way let me know what you guys think.

edited in-this is a simple design build, its real purpose is to provide me with insight into the ships quirks for a future solid build.

I think it's a bloody awesome idea!!! I love those Da Vinci designs, so anything that emulates them is fine in my book!

I love the design of both the SR-1 and SR-2, so I am very interested to see the end result as a Divinchi-esc model.
