OdiWan72´s prop family

Awesome catches, man!..even an MGC M16 with the correct Vietnam parallel forward assist and correct 3-prong muzzle..

Most movies get the muzzle wrong, Forrest Gump etc..Full Metal Jacket got it right though, but that was probably mostly due to Stanley Kubrick's meticulous nature..and Bapty's wondrous supply of course.
..it only took me 30 some years to get my hands on a real AR/civilian version of the correct era myself (though without any forward assist).

The „forward assist“ on the MGC is actually just a feature to connect the lower to the upper receiver

Really? That's interesting to know, I've never actually seen/held an MGC version in person..as you already know, they're pretty rare these days ;)
..I feel envious now =b

Very cool! After all time I spent rebuilding and building my Endor rifle, I don't know if I could start another so soon! Part of me says it will be easier, but the other part says move on! I do have to repair it because my nephew decided to try to drop the magazine with the dummy mag release button and broke the button...

Small update…

The vintage USAF airfield lamp is now officially restored and back to working order :)

In addition to that I received some more stuff for my arsenal...a MGC M16A1 and a MGC XM177E2 plus another C96 any a Sony TC67. The MGC rifles were both used as the bases for the ROTJ rebel blaster rifles (Endor). Already have these in my collection, but wanted to upgrade :)

Don´t worry buddy...the version you built with the live firing receiver (upper w/o forward assist button and M16A1 lower) is totally fine as it is ;) It´s just the documented other Endor rifles, that were based on MGC rifles

Oh I wasn't going to do that. I just like a couple of the other OT versions and now have to do that stubby Rogue One version!

BTW, I have no knowledge on those USAF lamps, but I assume they lined runways or something? I live near Wright Patterson AFB so I'm thinking if these were common USAF lamps, there's bound to be some floating around this area.

Finally some smaaaall update…

Was able to replace the resin mounts on my otherwise real parts EE3 with Chris‘ machined ones and upgraded my ROTJ E11 with more accurate "track"and the modelgun greeblie I got as a steel print from Chris Reiff. Also made my own scope tip (will redo it eventually)

Next in line is the ANH bowcaster…stay tuned :)

Nice!!! My ANH/ESB Stormtrooper blaster still has whatever grip material I bought back in the late 90s or early 2000s on here. It was the same rubber grip used on lightsaber replicas at that time. So there's probably something better out there now too.

Wannawanga offers the best bang for the buck imho

Also have track from Gino on one of my E11‘s, but while it‘s very very nice, it‘s way too expensive compared to other options

Super6Props - thin at corners, similar to Gino track
Wannawanga - little thicker, very consistent dark and ideal shape
Todd’s Costumes - lighter in color, asymmetrical shape seen in Fett Rifle
GINO - thin, apparently identical to screen used track, unfortunately 3x price of others, and he’s not a member here anymore

Nice!! Love me a good Bowcaster!! Hope you're good, friend!

On a sort of related note, I just lost a vintage scope in the mail. FedEx says they delivered it, yesterday!

What are you using for the rubber balls? I was curious because when I built my ROTJ Leia blaster (when you were selling the Margolins) I used rubber feet for the sides and the paint is flaking off. I probably should have made casts of them.

I am using the correct pink bouncy balls. I´ll see how well the paint adheres to the foam-rubber...@kurtyboy told me that he used plastidip (IIRC) on his build, since the regular paint was flaking off, so that´s plan B

Damn...what kind of scope?
It was just a 3/4” tube “model 7” type scope. So, nothing CRAZY expensive, but it’s still a bummer that FedEx lost it. It says they delivered it, but I don’t see the dang thing anywhere!

EDIT: Cancel that, my old-man neighbor just dropped by and handed me a box with the scope inside! Mystery solved!

Some more work done…

Need to find a better cord/ cable for the rear end…this doesn‘t look good

And while trying to attach the balls to the prod, it happened what had to happen…the paint got cracks

Need to get a can of plastidip
