Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,

Name's Will. I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to get active a couple weeks after making my largest prop purchase ever. I'm planning on converting a '67 Impala in to a screen accurate version of the car from the show Supernatural. I've also done a number of small personal projects, but nothing anywhere near as good as the stuff I've seen here over the last few weeks.
This place is great, and it looks to be a really solid community. I hope I can contribute something of value during my stay.

New to posting but not to the forums. Hello! Name is Ragz and I love to build costumes.

I mostly build for my kids, and now I am embarking a journey to make my own as well. Looking forward to seeing others interesting build and get a few pointers myself!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello guys, I found this site through exploration on google and after exploring it for a bit i registered so i could start sharing my own props and hope to collect others. :3, I am from FL.

Time to introduce myself.

Hi, I am known around the net as Laochri. I have been registered for about a year and a half. If memory serves me right, I registered to view a post I was linked to. I am a self proclaimed Star Wars Geek. I have built my own lightsaber with the help all the generous folks over at TCSS. I call it Mo Breith, (Scottish Gaelic for MY LIFE) Kind of a play on Words, Obi-Wan telling Anakin "This weapon is your life".
My next project is my Blast-Tech DL-44. The only thing Stopping is air and opportunity (and a little Cabbage)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone,
I am just another one in the infinite list of Newbes. I do not expect anyone to actually read this.
I am from Germany. I found this forum by looking for Pepakura files. Starting my first crafting with the age of 14 and making a lasergun from StarWars I discovered that a gun looks nice but is pretty lonely when theres no costume to carry it.

So I looked for pep files for a Stormtrooper. I wanted to build it with Bondo and Resin like in this Blog: When My Brain Leaks, the Drops Drip Here.: Star Wars Republic Commando Helmet Part I: the Prototype
I discovered pretty fast that i needed to buy a Dremel and sanding machine. Sanding Bondo with your hands and sandpaper? Impossible! Well these were first steps and failure was programmened. I started two more projects with this method, both from StarWars (yes Im a huge SW fan :) )

Sadly the costs of these projects increased and I decided to put them on ice till I earn some more money (Im just a student). For the Gamescom 2013 in Cologne I dressed up as Wolf from the videogame "Payday: The Heist".

(Thats not me)
I do not have any photos of my costume, what makes me angry. But the whole Costume was cheap because I found a whole fitting suit at my local thrift shop for about 15€ or USD. I made the mask just from papermache.
Today I started to work on a N7 Mass Effect armor made of EVA foam.
Thats a brief summary of my crafting experience.
Stay tuned. I hope I can give this community as much as it already gave me because when I need inspiration or help it is here where I find it.

Hi everyone! My name is Laura, I've been lurking around here for awhile so I thought it was finally time to join! I've been a makeup artist for about five years and during that time I've done a lot of beauty/ fashion/ editorial. I'd really like to move into SFX makeup/ costume/ props so I'm here for ideas and inspiration to get started! :D

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi to all!!
I love classic movies of terror and Sci-fi. I'm making my own props and enjoying making and showing in some forums. I'm also a fan of The Lord of the Rings and Conan (the books and the movie of 1982). There are a lot of artist here, so I'm very happy to be in!!
Let's the props begin!!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello to all...I am new to the pepakura world and look forward to learning from you all. I am a prior Marine injured in Afghanistan so I was looking to find something to keep my mind off some things that have been resurfacing in my past due ot all my down time and time to think and found a great friend who intriduced me to this to hopefully keep me busy :) Live in Tampa and am just starting to look at doing my first suit, actually just bought foam and card stock and watching tutorials on how to figure out measuring as I am a bigger guy and need to make suits bigger than the normal person. THank you all and cant wait to talk with you!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings. I am really glad to have found RPF. I really enjoy reading about the props, etc. and also the questions. Some super talent in these fourms. Wow! I build all sorts of things in my shop. I weld, cast, solder, spin, model, cut, cast and lathe to my hearts content. I make drawings with AutoCad (that was what I did before retirement- I helped coordinate CAD drawings for many of the great new casinos here in Las Vegas. I specialized in digital 3-D modeling of things- even sets for Ca, Cirque Sole, and other great shows). But, now I am retired and keep my fingers wet by scaling down my modeling and replicating skills in my home shop. I will be posting some of my results as I learn more about how to get around in RPF. Thanks for letting me in. Alt.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've been here for a few years, but apparently never posted. I'm a member of a lot of forums but usually lurk and don't post, I just enjoy reading everything that is going on. I'm interested in interacting with all of the different prop builders and hopefully getting some props of my own.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,
Into tons of movies and games and I love building props from them, I dont really have a genre I just go after whatever looks like an interesting build. I do alot of casting, welding, turning etc.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello folks. I'm Matt. After my buddy cosplaying for a while (Hunk from RE, Red Hood) he got me into it, and here I am. I'm trying to do a...type of Deathstroke costume (deathstroke x ...something). I'll be sure to learn a lot here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone,

I am very much new when it comes prop making etc, practically cosplaying as a whole, so please go easy on me for what I'm about to say. About 2-3 weeks ago I ordered a "ready made Commander Bacara Clone Trooper helmet" from Nexus Enterprising only to discover a couple of days ago, from various forums, that it's another incarnation of Star Fortress. That day too I discovered bout the real reputation and bad remarks of Star Fortress (how the actual product isn't what it appears in the picture) and suspected that Nexus Enterprising was the same person behind Star Fortress, which to my dismay, actually is! Just today I emailed them requesting for a refund, I hope I do get my refund as I ordered my product via paypal and my product has not arrived yet so hopefully I can try my chances. I know it was pretty dumb of me and I should've done proper research before ordering. You're probably thinking "how could you have not heard of this guy?" but I really am new to all this and wasn't aware of bad vendors like Star Fortress (or it's new incarnations like Nexus Enterprising).

After reading up on all the forums regarding the disaster that is Star Fortress, I felt very demotivated bout cosplaying (as this is my first time attempting at such an interest and what a worse way to start off) at this point as I had spent quite an amount of money on the product. The picture of the ready made Commander Bacara helmet looked really great but after researching on the forums, I doubt it would appear as the picture on the site. Eversince I was a kid I've always wanted to pick up on cosplaying, especially Clonetroopers. I never had much time, space (I live in a small apartment with my family) or the proper tools to work on kits so I've been searching for ready made Clone trooper costumes.

I apologize for this long story. I feel like I just need to let it out as I've been really stressed out for the past couple days cause I've just spent quite an amount of money for a product that can't guarantee of its quality.

So now, before I purchase such products I would like to seek help from people with experience and knowledge to help me out here, as I am still interested in buying a Clone Commander Bacara Phase 2 set. I'm just hoping you all can help provide me with legit and quality vendors so that history does not repeat itself again. Again, I am very much new to prop making, cosplaying etc so please go easy on me and I hope anyone who's experience with all this can help me out and guide me! And although I did mention bout how I never had much time, space or the tools to work on kits but (after recent events for me) I wouldn't mind trying to change my schedule so as to invest more time or find the space to work on cause I really wanna make this happen!

Another thing is I'm from Singapore and It is quite hard for me to find any local or regional Clonetrooper/501st garrisons to personally provide me with any supplies on clone trooper armor. But if there is anyone from the international spectrum that is willing to provide me with all the necessary stuff then I'm more than happy to check out!

Hello!

This is a great forum! An amazing resource with really talented people. I am a VFX artist, Illustrator, Animator, Film Maker, and Foam Fabricator. I've been following this forum for a while but have yet to join up. It feels great to finally be apart of this community.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, not really a noob here, just usually too busy too do too much online, usually just browse projects, but I think its about time to, seeing as theres a ton of great projects and great people. im in a wheelchair permanently so any costume I make other than a dalek (see my you tube "my dalek on central news" that was my 1st dalek, made 3 more much better ones since,) is pretty much limiting, and gutting! I own a halo master chief, batman begins costume and dark knight costume as well as jack sparrow, heath ledger accurate joker, gotham city cop uniform, and a load of bat props and some sci-fi props. always looking for next project! So Hi to you all, hope to see you on the boards.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, I'm new to posting on this site but I've browsed through projects before. I've always been a fan of costume building and prop making, and just recently I have started making costumes. I'm a theatre technician so I've been making props for the stage for awhile now.

Currently, I'm making my boyfriend a HEV suit from Half-Life. I thought it would be a good place to start seeing as I've never made a complete armor set before. I've only every fabricated small things, like masks or hand props.

Well anyway, I'm excited to finally be a part of this forum and look at some awesome cosplay!
