So here is a faceplate hinge test I've done in Solidworks to figure out the correct movement and dimensions/proportions of potential hinges

Looks sweet. I have one ordered. I plan on making a pattern from it to produce a steel version to go with my new project I want to start.

I'm doing a steel version too. Do you have a thread on this.

There is a thread on here of my mark iv build I'm working on that is a steel build. I haven't started on the mark viii yet. I'm going to finish my mark iv and perhaps slip in a section or two of the mark viii.

The best to get it is to spray a black primer under the toreador red. If you like I can share the exact color code?

Looking great. Neuer please do share the color used. I generally like to paint on my own non movie specific color but this is lookin sweet I might have to paint my biggeek the original color scheme.

It's "Multona Autolack Spray FORD FL Toreador Red" color code:0412

what is equivalent to :Buy Duplicolor Toreador Red Mica BFM0344 at Advance Auto Parts

Color Code: BFM0344

and I sprayed it over a dark layer, not grey! best is to get black primer...



for the gold I used:
"Multona Autolack Spray LEXUS 4M9 Cashmere beige metallic" color code: 0586

what should be equivalent to:
Buy Duplicolor Cashmere Beige Mica BTY1596 at Advance Auto Parts

color code: BTY1596

and sprayed it over GREY primer. :thumbsup

Sooo small update:

I added some detail lines and grunged it a bit...
I used acrylic color (water based!) so you can easily wash all the unwanted paint away

Nice job so far, same colours I have for the ones I'm finishing off and I would go with more of a brown ink on the gold/red, and black for4 the silver areas.

But to finish it off on my own really was worth it so I can at least say its 10%:90% my work

Actually this suit is from "Royal Dump", another member here.
I bought it last Year and was amazed by how good it fits me

But the mk 8 I want to build myself now
