My try at building the 1/6 Scale Falcon Cockpit

Did a little bit of detail work over the weekend on the Falcon.

Small handle on Han Solo arm rest.

Created the front details in the front of the cockpit (orange detail and piping - still needs to be painted)

Printed the panel on Han Solo's side rear Mid Panel ( again still needs to be sanded and painted) Sorry the pic came out a little blurry.

I believe they are suede material. I'm off with the color but it's what I had at the time. Will probably go back and fix it. :D

Kinda looks like he's thinking "Did I leave my coffee cup in the commissary again? Darn... now I'm gonna have to find a new one... maybe something with fish on it or maybe even a golf logo. Yeah, I think that's what I'll do. Sure could use some coffee right now."

I actually think it was suede, but all the same color... it's just that the material has been touched a few times and appears mottled from handling. I dunno if you've had fluffy bedspreads, and if you run your hand in one direction it makes it look like it was a different color. I think we're dealing with same sort of effect. Other photos of the same seats don't have that mottled marbling look to them.

Now that I've taken a much closer look at it, the inside was the suede, the outside what a shiny brown leather, the mottling effect is more along the outside edges and the raised features along the back, in more of a worn out wear pattern rather then a marbling effect. I believe the leather starts along the edge and separates the front of the seat from the back of it. The front is suede, the back is leather... here's a good pic of the front for comparison.

Can't wait to start on this. I also have a ton of Greeblies to go along with.

Hey Iz,

Pics look awesome! Looking forward to seeing some color and lights come into play!

Question: Did I not cut / give you the correct length side lower light bar covers?

I didn't see them in the bag. It's Ok. I'm going to try and cut them out of clear acrylic. I'm still sorting through all the greeblies. I didn't realize how many there were. :p

NO NO NO! :) Let me laser cut them for you using the white acrylic. You DEF want to use the white and back light them to get the same look as they did on screen. Also, I know you're planning to paint the different color panels but DEF paint the back of the other panels black to keep the LED light from coming through.

Just a thought?

Also, check the box, they might be floating around. ;)

OK. I will check and let you know if I find it. I may have to go back and redo the front part of the cockpit. The wood frame is slightly larger (1/8 inch around all sides) than the one I made. :( I have the files so I can easily go back and adjust the measurements.

Hold off on the adjustment. We'll chat off line to see if we can find a quick fix

Been awhile since my last update. Been sorting through all the parts that I got from Sofaking01. My many thanks to Sofaking01.:D

It's thick door and surprisingly heavy.

Here it is all painted up. Still need to add some of the door greeblies.
