hey can you tell where you got the files of your 3D printed stuff?

also love the build so far, you are making me want to work on my build but i am waiting to get a 3D printer and i am horrible with fabrics

My weekly update.

I worked on touch up on my 3d model of the boot rocket and been printing the parts out. Here is couple photos of my printed parts and the ones that are left to finish. They do need some clean up work, and then i will use the XTC-3D to smooth the surface of the parts. As you can see in my center part i have a big hole at the bottom. That detail feature will be turned into a button that will act like a locking mechanized latch. I didnt get to cut my mock up fabric this weekend had alot going on, plus at our office. Everyone is a little stressed about whats happening.

Finally done with the boots, rockets and all. :)
Thanks guys for the complements :) As for the pattern for the boots i will not be release it. I invested to much time and money on them to just give away.
I would have to look back but the 3D files i got from couple others on this form, but they are STL files. The boot rockets i ended up remodeling a good portion of it as i was not happy with the 3D model. Next up to work and finish my Bag, Pants, Element guns and Headphones.

I see you have collar fabric...
I'd love to know if that, too, is polyester because I'm seriously considering removing the lining of my leather jacket. It's Poly-lined and pretty warm.
Also, I want to thank you for posting the pics of your boot making process. I have a stack of leather scrap five feet tall from trying to replicate those pieces, LOL...I'm *almost* there

...and only now I"m thinking "why the hell didn't I ask this guy, before a week from Halloween, if I could possibly get measurements or a pattern?'
(...or did i?)

GREAT work and thanks again!

ok so here is my fabrics im using for the shirt. I know its not Exactly perfect but it will have todo. Dyeing Polyester is not easy, and would have to use a industrial type dye thats made for that. Give that i found that my workout shirt as the pattern and is more of a medium grey. For some reasons i have excess light thats making everthing lighter, i even have all my light turned off. Im thinking its something with my photo camera. Anyways this photo will give you some what of an idea.

Hi All,
Sorry for going missing in action for the last 6 months. Its been very crazing life lately. Our company did the split and there was alot of worring going on. Then had to help with the new office remodel. I also put my Star Lord project on hold for a bit to work on another project with a friend of mine which is a big under taking. But im going to get back onto this project starting next week. I also been focused on my workout program and been going to the gym 5 days a week since January of this year. Hope you all are good :)

Hello,
Wanted to give an update. I been working on different projects. Me and a friend are working on a short story/film. I have been gathering equipment and doing a story board for our film. I also been working on my Star Lord Bag and finished the mock up bag and started work on the final bag this weekend. Enjoy the progress photos.

These boots are amazing! I'm working on a costume for my son to wear at San Diego ComiCon I have most of the helmet done and now looking to get some accessories. Would love to see a pattern for these boots. Oh and I have tool envy - looks like you have everything one could possibly need.

Ok, i been a busy little bee. Wokring on my finishing up my bag and Orb. My next project i will be working on, will be the Pants and the headphones. Also during this time i am working on a short film with a friend. It is a new adventure that we started. Im right now in the store stage, script, and store board design.
Below are some pictures of my Bag and Orb. I am finished with the Orb, but still need to do some minor touch ups to the bag, like weathering it. Enjoy tell my next post. Thank you every one on the complements on my Costume.

This was the start, i randomly sketched out patterns on a Styrofoam ball.
20160603_162452.jpg

My tools i used to etch out the patterns.
20160603_172351.jpg

My finished Orb. After i etched it, i used Black Plasti-Dip paint to coat the ball. I would do a different way, by creating a mold then cast it in resin but this was just a hurry up version. I may later mold and cast this version. After the Plasti-Dip i used silver rub-n-buff with then Ebony color rub-n-buff to give it a more metal look.

My simi final Star Lord Bag. I have 3 pockets, the bigger back pocket has a zipper. I may darken up my leather strap some by deluting my water base dark brown leather dye and doing a wash over it. Then i need to do weathering/ color wash over the brown leather on the bag to give it a worn look. The same with the fabric.

Its been about 4 weeks since i last posted so wanted to give an update. I had been marking the pattern for my pants and cutting all the peaces out. I started to sew some of the peaces this weekend and i think i got quite a bit done on them. Here are some photos of my progress on the pants.
