Hi everyone! This is my first post in a long time. I wanted to share my “studio scale” off the shelf x-wing. I want to get into studio scale and this seemed like the perfect entry point to familiarize myself with things like the different painting techniques and lighting.

It’s based off the one that was up for auction at Propstore years back and was the subject of the Archive-X group build.

I had a blast and look forward to building more.

Probably one of the most fascinating aspect of the original trilogy VFX was the use of off the shelf Star Wars kits in the movies. Was this a known fact back then? X wings were mostly in fast motion shots which made the MPC model kits a viable solution, and the fact that same model kit that many fans built were used in the movies must've been so exciting.
