My HIC Poker Table.

That is really cool. It must weigh a ton!

If you were to lift it up....yes. but, I have it on 4 plastic furniture tacs ( Shaped like a dome ) that help it glide when you push it around.

Thanks for the words.... I'll keep progress posted here as I get some

I caught the first few updates on the 501st borads. You've come a long way since then. It is looking fantastic.

Keep us posted on your progress.

How did I miss this until now! Frakin' awesome! I have a HIC fron slab casting that I want to make the box for but have not found the time... Now I feel like such a slacker...

WOW this is stunningly amazing i am loving it!!
When is the first game night.......I will bring food!!:lol:thumbsup

Shooting for sometime within a couple of months. It's going to be nerve-racking to actually let 10 guys sit down at the table and play cards. I should just scratch it myself first just to get it out of the way.:unsure

Here's the two pieces mounted together now.

I'll get back on this soon, but now it's time to get R2 and I ready for the Emerald City Comic Con tomorrow.

thanks for the compliments..... More to come!

Chris your HIC is amazing, I really, really, really wish I lived closer to you so you could make me one.....lol

For those of you that don't know Chris aka "Greedo" he makes a ton of 501st weapons & props ( mostly from wood ) his work is second to none.

Thanks so much for sharing your work Chris; I'm trying to figure out how to make my HIC a functioning piece and your version, coupled with Tom Spina's table has given me some valuable insightsd into what's possible :)

totally SICK!!

I've built a couple poker tables, I would love to see pics of it in use and hear how it functions with dealing cards, chips in the pot and all the in game action.

Any thoughts to your chip set? Dude, I am avid poker chip collector and have been tempted by a few custom sets (have a few samplers from chiptak.net, I also have a dollar chip from almost every casino in Vegas) if you did a custom bounty hunters set, or a Boba set that would be KILLER. I'd be in on a groupbuy for sure.

This is absolutely awesome! What brand of paint did you use for the box? I'll be working on my HIC furniture this summer and yours has the look I'd like for mine. :)

I have some slack on this project because it's so custom. I just went with what I thought ''looked good", rather than study a million screen shots for the perfect match. Don't get me wrong,,,,,, The world needs people like that, I just went a little more relaxed on this build.

so to answer your question, I used Rustoleum's "Hammered" style paint right out of a aerosol can. the solo was painted with the "Silver" and the outer box is "Dark Bronze". I will be making the doors of the cabinet the silver as well.

Hope that helps....

I'm in the same boat. I'm making a coffee table for my media room and that hammered bronze looks really nice. :)

Thanks!

THIS IS SO COOL! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

What a great idea. I love the alternative ideas for the HIC. I've just finally got mine hung on the wall and it's a beast. Unless you have a lot of room for display, it just takes up so much wall space!

Ideas like this let you display a HIC while still making it functional!

Love it! :love:love:love...can't wait to see it finished!
