The way I see it, estimating for materials that I had on hand, or a percentage of the material that I had to buy and now have surplus of, this job cost approximately $49 to produce one Power-5 blaster. In reality, with tax, and for the total cost of the project, I ended up spending a whopping ~$137. Way over budget. It would have been much cheaper to buy a resin kit, but way less fun.
So, not so cheap, but still cheerful, and now I have a blaster that looks cool in hand or in the holster, and will be awesome for trooping (and imho, looks a lot more spiff than the example in the CRL).
