Model and prop kits?

I want to get into model and prop making, I've been into 40k in the past and looking to start again. I'm not very experienced in build models and replicas from scratch, so I was wondering if there are any good site to buy prop and replica kits from? I was listening to Adam savage talk about RPF, and he said a few times that you can build kits on ebay or as where online.
I was thinking of maybe making a gun of some sort, maybe from the 40k lore, but something of that size in general to get me started.

If you are looking into props then the main prop forum is the place to look.
There have been several 40K gun builds and folks usually show step by step builds.

A old buddy of mine Ironhand is heavy into the 40K gaming and making custom inspired weapons and armor.
He has a thread around here somewhere.

For regular models, those are easy to find on line since most Brick and Mortar shops have gone the way of the Dodo.
Tower Hobbies, Mega Hobby, Squadron, Starship Modeller, CultTVMan are just a few of the places I visit.
