Mascot costumes

We bought a mascot costume for our elementary school & you can’t breathe in the head piece. The opening is so small & a person’s mouth hits the foam. Nothing lines up & the company is offering a refund. Problem is we really need it for an upcoming event. Any suggestions? I am nervous to cut into & make it worse.

If you can post pictures of both the inside and outside of the costume and the problem area, it may help members determine a solution. How much room is there around the inside of the headpiece. Can you cut out some foam?

A solution needs to be developed to get more air into the headpiece and also to get carbon dioxide out.
