Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build- NEW SEALING TECHNIQUE !!!

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build

I think I found the answer to my own question. Is it recommended to add a few inches to my total height when scaling or should I only need to do that for the helmet?

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build

yeah actually i made it a little bigger for me because you need to be considering that you arent going to be naked undeer . also i suggest to scale it individually because every pieces on default scale doesnt match for exemple, the forearm is made very small i am 15 and it was too small for me !

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build

i just build a cardstock helmet , resined it and bondoded iit now i am sanding it since saturday .... it never gonna stop !!!

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build

does anyone have some tips to get a smooth surface for my helmet and wich sand paper to use ? bondo is driving me crazy

1.I start with 150 to sand any rough spots
2.grey primer it to see imperfections
3. fill any low spots
4. wetsand with 250 grit to shape and smoot
5. primer again this time i have cheap black spray paint n Ill splater the helmet cuz it helps to see small imperfection when wetsanding
6. wetsand 400 n use glazed spot putty for any low spot u can tell cuz the black paint splatter will still be there.
7. prime n wetsand with 800 n then it will b smooth i mean real smooooth lol.
8. prime last time dont sand after then paint then stare at it with joy :D

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build- need help for the helmet !

Hi everyone!

I've been a member for several months but just now getting my iron man project underway. Your armor looks great. When scaling your biceps, I find that I need about 8.5" for the height but my biceps (which are huge ;)) needs about 5". Is there a way to adjust the height and width? I find its either one or the other.

Thanks for the help. Im still learning to scale and find my way to the best answers.
Thx

when u buy sandpaper make sure it says wet or dry. all u do is get bucket of water dunk it in and start sandin, but use a sanding block

what u r going to do is go to 2d menu scale scale factor and then you change the size of the part !

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build- need help for the helmet !

That, I have figured out...however you cant seem to change the width AND the height. I need the part to be 215mm by 127, but It seem syou can only change one which affects the other. You can't independantly do both parts, unless Im completely missing something...in which I apologize. The first bicep I made was the right height, but couldnt fit around my arm, I need 1 more inch or so.

Thanks for the help guys!

Re: Iron man mark 7 mk VII foam build- need help for the helmet !

look the way i see it is that u dont have to completely follow the templates... if its too wide for you, cut abit off so it has a better fit... remember u will be wearing the suit so alter it if you have to

DAMN i am sooo upset -.- i tried to paint my ar no plastidip on and th result was totally not what i expected there was a shine but not a met. one ... i will have to redo the arms so that i will use plastidip one them ...
but its a good news too.. i will have some ''brand new'' arms and i wanted to mod mine soo...

thats awsome mate what have you sealed it with im stuck for what to use got both pva and plasti dip can i combine
