Falcon 3D parts replacement cockpit dash question

I have the Fanhome Falcon and I bought the replacement cockpit cone and dash from Falcon 3D parts. I thought I would be able to light the forward cockpit dashboard but it's not designed for that. I am planning to drill some holes for fiber optics but I wanted to know if anyone else had (a) used this part and (b) lit it effectively.

This is the dash part I'm talking about. It's the side panels in front of Chewie and Han that are giving me pause.
