Spielberg also used the same sound effect (a roar from an old dinosaur movie) as the truck goes over the cliff and as the shark sinks to the bottom of the ocean (though the sound effect was slowed down for Jaws so that it would be more subdued).

Y'know, since my username is "Zombie_61" on at least four different forums, I had the idea of making a tee shirt with my username at the top and each of the forum names below it in slightly smaller lettering on the off-chance that someone from any of those forums might see it, recognize the name, and introduce themselves. Unfortunately, the idea came to me two days before Monsterpalooza, so I didn't have enough time to act on it. Maybe one of these days I'll actually do it.

I picked up this kit of only $7. I want to use these headlights for the truck.

That was easy enough. Next I worked on the oil cleaner thing on the driver's side and the things that attach the headlights. I modified the oil cleaner thing and scratch build the headlight things. Not sure what to really call these.

I took one of the air tanks that I won't be using and added that to the top of the oil cleaner thing. It is a tad too big now that I look at the photos so I might redo that if it ends up bothering me.

The kit smokestack is just temporary to give me an idea how it all looks. I plan on remaking that too.

I have to learn 16 songs for a show in Long Beach on the 18th. I'll be playing guitar for Exene, the singer for X. Being a big fan of X, she's a singer I've admired for so many years so it's quite a trip to be playing songs that she wrote and performed with X and her solo stuff.

Thanks guys! X is playing a show tomorrow (the 9th) in Nappy Valley then I think their next show is opening for the B52s in the OC. I'm not sure how many shows I'll be doing with her but there are plans for a few LA shows.

I haven't heard about using cuticle cream. Thanks for the info. I started off in a punk band many,many years ago so I'm used to attacking the frets and playing fast. Some of the songs are ones I've heard a thousand times so I know the arrangements, just need to learn the chords. Punk songs have easy solos (if any) so that's not a problem. To me, trying to play someone's guitar solo is like trying to forge a signature. I don't want to mess this up. I don't mind making a fool of myself, I just don't want to disappoint Exene or my friend who got me this gig. I got this without even an audition.

should see if you could get some artistic license to be able to tweek the riffs a bit, hell most leads change it up on stage all the time anyway. if you get to anal about perfection you will look like a zombie with a stick up your ***** on stage sweating bullets terrified that the last transition from C to Cm was noticed by everyone in the crowd.

Thank you Katsu-san. Metal wood, you didn’t make it worse for me. The old Black Flag and Germs songs we’ll be doing don’t have solo but the songs that do are simple blues scales. We’ll be doing Helter Skelter and on that solo I’ll hit the same bends but add some of my own stuff in between.

I remember when I first heard KISS on a classic rock station. I suddenly felt old. Regarding Black Flag, I should have said “early” Black Flag. We’ll be doing songs from their EP before Henry Rollins.

Hi guys. After the show I did, I've been busy working on my wife's side business. It involves silicone molds, fiberglass mother molds, slush casting etc. which is new to me so it's been a bit time consuming. It doesn't really have anything to do with movie or TV but more of a Halloween them which my wife can't get enough of.

For now I just wanted to share some pictures of what I did with Exene. Here's a picture after our rehersal two days before the show. I'm on the left.

I had a blast doing this. We played two of Exene's X songs that are over 30 years old and it was a trip playing those with her. It's still kind of hard for me to believed it happened.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been able to post any updates and I’m sorry about that. I’ve been busy with other projects and busy with a side business my wife and I started. I have been working on this truck and have pictures to post but I first need to retrieve some older pictures of this build from a crashed hard drive which I should be getting very soon. Also, in the past few months, my day job had web filters that kept me from posting here and once I got home, I was too busy with the side business to even look at a computer. Now, the web filters are gone and I do have more free time in the evenings so I’ll be able to be a part of this community again which I have missed. Katsu-san, I would love to see some pictures of you when you were in a band. :thumbsup

I'm finally getting around to posting some long overdue updates.

First the smoke stacks. Since parts of the exhaust from under the truck wont' be seen, I'm going to use it for the smoke stack.



Then a test fit.


I had to straighten out the front bumper a little.



Added this little tank thing behind the tool box.


Added little diagonal handles to the front grill.


Then added little details to the smoke stack and test fit.


More to come...
