I've had some interest for pics of my Man Cave so I figured I'd put them all in one place.

I blame the RPF 100% for my entry into this hobby. As my friend Simmon M told me when I joined here years ago, "Check your wallet at the door."...I, of course, didn't!

I've been working on this area the last couple years. It's a nice size space that allows me to hide this secret obsession from the rest of the house.

I've focused on a very "curated" museum style look for the main display area. What I've found collecting TOO much stuff is it's hard to display. I'm trying to "display what I love" and get rid of everything else. Of course, this is a process and new stuff always seems to enter the display, as old stuff exits. I'm also ALWAYS tweaking because it stops being fun once it's "done!"

I decided to try and narrow things down to a few main themes. Star Wars, Indy, Bladerunner and LOTR. What was left over goes into my office that's behind a hidden door in the theater area.

Hidden Man Cave office...

While designing the Home Theater, I decided to have some fun and "hide" the door that accesses the component room. While doing this I realized I'd have a nice space for a small room. Why not make this an office, which really means a space to display all the stuff I don't want in the main Man Cave area!

The door is covered with false panels the exact size as the other acoustic panels on the side wall of the theater. This allows the door to disappear into the wall when closed...

Incredible house and collection. When I daydream about having a display room, this is the kind of thing I imagine. I love how well curated everything is. Too often you see great collections but it can get cluttered fast and it ends up looking like junk. This though? Perfection. It reads more like a museum, which is what I would go for if I had the space to display stuff.

That Kong poster is one of my favorites. It really is contemporary art. Even "non-movie people" admire it.

It was hand pulled on an antique machine by a company called S2 Art Group just like they were done in the early 1900's. They have several that are real beauties in this large "three sheet" size.

I also have their Metropolis poster...not framed yet!
