Create your own custom Decals

but needed something that would enable me to print directly onto platic sheet on my home printer.

It's getting harder and harder to find these days because of Powerpoint, but inkjet-printable overhead transparency film is great for something like this. You can print onto it in reverse and then paint white over the printed side. The opposite side will have the image, backed in white, with a clear shiny surface over the front. Best part is that it's not a decal and doesn't have all the handling issues that decals have. Great for replicating viewscreens or framed photos in dioramas.

Brilliant. Quick search on Amazon reveals that companies still produce this stuff and its not expensive so this may be an alternative option.

Look at the craft shops in your area. You may be able to find some plastic sheet there that you could cut to the width and length of a standard sheet.

Just in case you weren't aware....For an LCARS Display you probably would want to mirror the print and then install in with the printed side in. This way no sticky or wet hands will wipe away the ink.
