Clone Phase 2 Helmet Kenobi Series Replica build and paint

I am starting my clean up, trim, build and paint of my Sanotized Creations Kenobi Replica Clone Phase 2 helmet.
The helmet is a Rotocast Resin with the ears, chin pieces and crown rubber all separate and casted in resin.
I think i will stick with the on-screen 501st Legion grunt design for this one.

I decided to use the free water while it was raining for some wet sanding of the helmet.. this is 400 grit paper. Here's the results of the first sanding pass.. I will go over this one more time to even it out and then move on to the accessories and dry fitting.
the more I look at this helmet the more I love it.

i took some time to fine tune the teeth and cheek cut outs and did some extra sanding on the whole helmet before attaching the ears for priming

im not sure what they are now. i got in when it was a funding pre-order type thing. I think i have seen these kits for around 150-200. you can generally see his updates and castings on his social media accounts. He also does finished versions.

i have another helmet on order that i have been waiting for so i can work 2 of these simultaneously from 2 different vendors.. i have been waiting for the second one since February... so this is why i have not posted recently, even though some work has been going on.

I will post an update next week on the progress of the first helmet and continue it without its brother for now. When the second helmet gets here, i will likely work on them separately.

a couple coats of primer and some light 800 grit sanding to smooth out the base. now on to a metallic coating.

I got my second helmet this week. Finally...
the second one is a live action episode 2 helmet from Bounty Helmets in the UK. I ordered this one in April.
Glad it finally got here. not sure why the seller sent it this way with the face plate already cut out, which I would rather do myself unless there was something wrong that they didn't want to show.. its roughly cut and drilled, but they also scuffed the surface and scratched it pretty good in a couple spots.
I also saw some other issues needing to be fixed before paint..mould separation lines that are fairly deep, and some very thinly distributed areas and some completely disconnected spots that I can put something thru especially in the areas of the jowels.
It definitely has a different shape than the Kenobi, and overall is a nice bucket. the resin seems to be fairly thick overall, very smooth inside, and the neck area is much thicker than the Sanotized Creations helmet.

The Kenobi helmet is now in paint stages. I have a coat of nickel steel on it over the primer. This Bounty Helmets bucket is just out of the box in its green skin arrival.

I'll be working on prepping the Bounty helmet so i can get these both to the same spots and continue to share some comparisons and paint them at the same time.. although they will be different when finished.
