C-57D Model - who, what, where & when

Several years ago {with the help of a friend of mine} I created accurate Vac Domes for the 28" C-57D kit.


This was followed by an accurate version of the Landing Pad, which allowed for in-flight display of this overly LARGE kit...


But there's so much more to Tell...
Since 2009, my design team - The RE-VISIONEERS -
have been developing uber-accurate plans of for the C-57D
as seen in the MGM film Forbidden Planet.

Sometime around 2010, as a direct result of the popularity my C-57D aftermarket accessories -
I was approached by a Model Co. who expressed interest in my participation in upgrading the large 28" kit.

Soon afterward, my design team & I entered into separate negotiations
regarding a licensing agreement to render our C-57D plans in 1/144th scale -
to be used in making patterns for a completely retooled C-57D model kit.

They ended up not using the RE-VISSIONEER plans...
but there's more to the story!

Because I had verbally entered a Non Disclosure Agreement -
I've been holding my breath for almost 2 years.
Now that the kit-cat is out of the bag, I can breathe easy...

I'm currently participating on a pilot for a new webcast hobby-show
& if there is any interest {here at RPF} and as soon as I am able,
I'd like to share {via YouTube } the Rest of this story...

My design team 'The RE-VISSIONEERS' {Dave McCamant, Wyane Orliki & myself}
were directly involved in the very early stages of developing this kit -
specifically regarding the more accurate scale, shape & detail accuracy -
which in turn directly influenced the decision to go with the 2 piece hull & 12" size.

Glad to see this kit finally getting released...
because the Re-Vis have been working on even more aftermarket gems to upgrade & compliment the original 28" & the new 12".

Greetings modeleers! Looks great! I'm new here...and intro'ed myself elsewhere. Part of my Man-Cave project is 3D models for CNC and 3D Printer so I find this quite interesting. Like to see some more data...especially availability

Great stuff! Be nice if some of the upgrades were available in the uk. I have the 28" version to build once I'm finished with my current projects. Still like to see your YouTube vids, make sure you post them links!
