I have the screen used grips from aliens and I've been wanting to recast them so I can have them on a model 39 and not worry about breaking the only grips. First mold went ok but I was told I need to make a 2 piece mold to get the back detail for the function of the model 39 so in a few days when I get more silicone I'll be making a new mold that will hopefully be better. Wish me luck

Cool. I think you can use the mold you've already done as 1 side of the two-part mold. Just gouge out some grooves and other indents around the grips, so the newly poured mold has something to hold onto, so it doesn't slide around when casting.

Ok take 2 making them double sided after some recommendations from folks.

Vasquez grip mold finally turned out perfect! Gotta do a bit of trimming but it's exactly what I wanted. I wanted the backs to be perfectly flat for a better fit to live fire model 39. The originals have warped over time.
So I taped the grips to the tables and filled in all the gaps with clay. Now they should fit better.
