Nothing earth shattering and this might be a known thing, but watching an episode of Gerry Anderson’s ‘Space1999’ (Dorzak), I noticed that several sound effects (not Vangelis generated ones) were the exact ones used at various points in ‘Blade Runner’ (when you’ve seen the film so many times, you start to instantly recognise these sounds).
So after a 2 minutes research on Google, discovered that the ‘sound editor’ of ‘Space 1999’ and most of Anderson’s other productions was a guy called Peter Pennell.
Turns out he was also ‘sound editor’ on Superman and various other productions including Blade Runner. Interesting fact!
