Hello all, My next blaster build is in the works so this will be my build log. I am once again working with AndersEFP. This time we are making the BattleStar Galactica Colonial Blaster as seen in Season one as that is the most iconic blaster of the modern sidearms seen in BSG.

Here are some 3D renders Anders knocked up.

Anders also made a Test print for dimensions and fitment, also featured is his metal Blade Runner blaster that we have worked on for the past couple of years.

So at this stage I come in to make the digital more real. I will 3D print some masters and get to work on a good finish and fit read for casting. I think for this project I will be going with resin casting all the parts.

I hope all you BSG lovers are as excited to see how this once works out as I am!

Looking fantastic! I love this blaster, so looking forward to seeing what you two come up with!

It would be absolutely killer if you could size the clamshell to fit over an airsoft revolver!

I am really looking forward to seeing how this works out. I have been trying to find a more accurate model of this sidearm for a while now. I picked up a holster for this particular weapon but the 3D printed pistol I bought is far too wide and not all that accurate either.

That would be fantastic.
The original series 1 prop was a Smith & Wesson 686 revolver in a shell made from milled aluminium and a sleeve over the original 2.5 inch barrel. The cylinder release on the left side was also removed for clearance.
I’m sure a suitable airsoft revolver could be found for such a beast.

So i’m a fairly active member on here and my father and I were just talking about our love for BSG, and how there aren’t a ton of options out there for the blaster…A day after I asked to be on the list for your Bladerunner Blaster and finding that thread, I see THIS!! So awesome!! Very excited and i’ll be in for atleast 2 when it’s ready!!

Curious what the references were for this – there's a couple noticable inaccuracies that seem familiar.

The back of the screen prop is squared off, not curved:

And the wedge in front of the trigger guard is much shorter on the screen used:

And the overall body seems to be shorter, front to back, on the screen prop:

I hate to say it, but what this (along with other features such as the shape of the safety switches) resembles is the Matsuo V2 replica I have sitting next to me in my home office:

Sure, Matsuo turned into a scammer, but I would rather see something more than a replica of his replica.

Totally valid points you raise here, I do have some Matsuo pictures in my reference material and I agree this can be better!

So will there eventaully be a final metal version? Or will it just be a printed one? Either way it looks great so far. I sold my Matsuo awhile back and kinda regretted it.
