Ahsoka Tano padawan braid

This is my version of what I think Ahsoka's padawan braid beads would have looked like in live action. This project turned out to be very tedious. I thought it would be very easy to find diamond and triangle shaped beads. It definitely was not. I ended up making my own beads. The large diamond shaped beads are made from copper/aluminum, the 4 smaller diamond beads are aluminum and the 4 triangle shaped beads are cut from a brass bolt head. I cut the spacers from a brass tube I got from the hardware store. I used a needle file set, a hacksaw, a vice, and sanding block to shape these beads. It took much more time than I had ever planned on spending on this project. I used brass ager to patina the spacers and aluminum black on the 2 brass colored triangles and the 4 smaller diamond beads. All the round beads I got at a local bead store. I had bought 2 blue beads but they broke when I tried to feed the cord through them so I used a bronze bead and painted it. After shaping the diamond beads I painted them with a flat aluminum then used tamiya weathering kits to age them and highlight the details. Para cord is what I ran through the beads. I just melted the ends to keep everything in place.
I based these off of a few images I found from clone wars and I took into consideration Ahsoka's beads on her belt in the Mandelorian. They looked more organic and aged rather than completely semetrical beads. So I aged them and added a little carbon scoring. I did take into account that at the point Ahsoka gives up her braids they would have been through a lot of war and combat.

Holy Asterisked Word Batman!!! Those braids look absolutely fantastic. Metal was a good choice, i feel like plastic would be too dull and feel too cartoon-y

Originally I did have the two big diamond beads on it but it looked odd with them on it especially it just being the beads. Looked better on the character so I took them off.

So after realizing I made a mistake on the first "braid" I made, I was able to correct it on this commission. There should only be one braid on the right side. I added the connecting strand that goes under Ahsoka's middle head tail. Because these beads aren't exposed to the elements like the other strands are and are basically against skin on both sides, I made them more smooth and less dirty/weathered. The bottom red triangle ️ bead I recessed the end of the cord inside the brass bead that I cut from a piece of flat bar. I filled the hole so after painting it you wouldn't see the knot like you can on the last set I did. I'm going to make the last two big diamond shaped beads at the top of the entire braid. I drilled an extra hole in one of the two big round brass beads at the connection point for the middle strand of beads. I did use my own hand for scale. Here's where I am so far.

That is a LOT of work. Looks amazing! Have you looked into casting the parts?

I only ever got round to making these simplified versions for my daughter, haha.

Thank you very much, no I haven't. It would definitely speed things up a bit. Oh I did see these on line. Those are awesome!
I could cast them in resin no problem but brass, silver and copper have such a good weight to them.
