Shadows of Mordor Elven Hammer

Does anybody have interest in making the hammer Sauron gives Celebrimbor in the shadows of mordor? I think it would be a pretty cool prop but don't have any idea how to make a good version

This is a quick photo of it

I am making one now. I am going to make it out of several layears of thin mdf and styrene. Once I have the hammer shaped and finished correctly I will make a mold and cast it in smooth cast 300 with aluminum powder. The hope is that a powder coat and the white resin will give it a bright shine as opposed to using a black resin

That's pretty cool. I might make this as well.
It looks more thin than a hammer should be.

From my crappy math skills----- So from this concept art, if the dude is 5'10", then the hammer is 12 6/16ths inches long. Which is half an inch longer than the hammer i have in my tool box.
I just used 5'10", no idea how tall he should be. if you make him 6 foot tall, then the hammer is 12 3/4 inches.

Oh, I missed that part. Yeah that's a bit tiny for a weapon (to use against armored foes anyways). Maybe it's for hammering nails. ;)

Remember Celebrimbor is an old Noldorin elf. I put his height closer to 7ft which makes his hammer about 15 in long. Plus, in my experience a slightly larger prop is always better than one too small.

Also, in the scene where Annatar gifts the hammer you can clearly see that two more sets of hands could easily grasp it in the middle. If those hands are each 4in wide (mine are just under 4 inches and I am 6'2") then the hammer is well over 12 in long.

yeah i had no idea how tall he was, but since most people are 6 foot and under, i went with that. I'm 5'6" so i don't want a huge hammer.

Yeah at 7 foot i get 14.875 inches.
it'll be cool to see the difference, i'll have to sketch it out to see what i like better.

I think I'd make it a bit thicker to give it some good heft. I've always like props that have a comfortable weight to them. I've been trying to get a good look at the elvish script on it but can't seem to find a good angle. I'm thinking about trying to do this via shapeways and see how it would turn out. Not to sure though.

The runes on the hammer are tough. If anyone could get a clear picture or if the developers would say what is written there it would be very helpful.

At this point I am starting to play with the idea of using Celebrimbor's name which means "silver-fist" or "hand of silver"

Silver-fist seems fitting enough

To give the casting weight, would you consider mixing BB's into a dense resin and then filling the hollow casting with this mixture? Might give a nice weight to it. My concern with this idea is that the BB's wouldn't distribute evenly without devising a technique.

I have been working on this for a Short time Here is my Progress so far Bondo phase 2.5 (3).jpgBondo phase 2.5 (2).jpg

Only real issue so far is a clear picture of the Name on the Hammer in Elven

Sadly it doesn't say anything. from the Looks the developers just added a bunch of letters that they thought looked good. Still awaiting response from the Devs though to make sure
