UK Prop Party - confirmed 19th 20th November

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

This is getting better and better, Simon (birdie) has just sent me a list of his props and if thats anything to go by this could be a huge event im thinking maybe a 2 day event.

Dont worry if dont have anything to display its an RPF event for us UK members to meet, chat and get to know each other.

please inbox me if you do plan to display with your list.

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

Midlands is not ideal for me but at least it's the right side of the Atlantic! I'd hope to get along. Not sure if I'd have much to show. Maybe a contest could be organised to coincide with it? That way everyone could have something to show.

Contest ?? i dont quite follow what you mean Mate :$

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

I was thinking something along the lines of the RPF Dollar Store/Poundshop lightsabre building contests, but to be displayed and judged at the event.

That sounds like a cracking idea and one that will definately be taken on board :thumbsup

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

Ok just a little update on this.

Ive been busy today setting out some ground work on making this happen, ive sent out some mails to various people inviting them along a formal invite has been posted on the Dented Helmet as i think it would be great if a we had some UK representation on what is a great forum, im hoping Darren (Boba maker) will see the post as we have worked together in the past.

Ive sent out an Invite to AA asking if he would like to take part in a Q&A, i mentioned it in jest on an earlier post but then i got to thinking maybe it wouldnt be such a bad idea, will keep you informed on the out come to that.

Is there any one else you would like to see within reason at the Prop Party, im thinking Brian Muir (is he UK Based) with Brian and AA in the same room i think that could be a pretty good exclusive for the RPF i doubt it would happen but i will definately try ..........

Thats it so far, please dont forget to inbox me your Collection and if anyone wants to help me do this then again please inbox me ..... looks like i could do with the help

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

yeah getting those 2 together would be a fantastic coup, :love

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

Ordinarily I would be up for something like this, however I would feel like a fifth wheel as I don't really have anything that is worthy of showing and absolutely none of it would be connected to Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Aliens which seems to be the most popular subjects around here.

That said, if we could make it a regular thing (say once a year) one day I reckon that i could tag along with something. Mind you, it would be nice to meet up with fellow members and see the fruits of their labours.

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

I like a bit of diversity personally.

Star Wars, Indy and Aliens isn't the be all and end all of movie props, I won't be bringing any of that stuff either!

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

Absolutely, id be very dissappointed with the amount of members from the UK we have here if we couldnt cover most movie Genres, id personally love to see horror stuff represented.

If you feel you have absolutely nothing to display there is no reason why you still cant come along and meet your RPF buddies at the end of the day that is one of the main aims, hell id love to open the door to anyone around the world.

so to add to this as this is the first official UK RPF event any movie Genre is welcome anything at all from Rubie slippers to Light sabers we want them there.

id also love to see someone like Fettster at the event showing off his work or even better actually working on something and giving out tips and advice. hint hint :love

Im not sure how the US prop Parties work but my aim is to make this one a bit special and held at a specialised venue / hall

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

Hi,

I would love to attend but cannot commit until you get a solid date (due to work).

Do I need to bring anything - apart from booze :lol

Please keep me up to date :)

Cheers Chris

I would say that those are probably fairly consistent as genres go, but flavours of the week play a big part too, Tron Legacy can put their hand up. I'd say there's quite the diverse selection, it's just an appreciation of props required. And that's something I definitely have, nothing to show unfortunately. But I can make some brownies or maybe some nice macaroons.

Why is it no-one brings savoury things for sharing? Pot of beef carbonnade and a bunch of spoons.

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

would be up for this, I have a couple of model projects on the go at the moment and this would make me get them done!!

Re: Interest for a UK Prop Party

My list consists of, proton packs, ghost traps, k-9, loki mask, audrey 2 (little shop of horrors, iron man helmet, metal mickey, book of the dead and a few more things i shud hav knocked up by then.

Cant wait.......
