    Any updates on this, Bevbor?

Sorry, guys, I've just got new job and very busy there these days.

Today I suddenly managed to make a little progress - to cut out the front shell =)

    (Press on pictures to enlarge)

    Tomorrow I'll glue it together.

I just finished my companion cube pepakura model. Now i had some practice.
Those round shapes of the portal gun look nice! should be much easier than cutting hundreds of triangles.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Hi,

    it's easy as a cake.

First, save your SolidWorks part as VRML file (.WRL) (DON'T FORGET to set in save options VRML'97 version of export, it's essential!)
Second, open your .WRL file in free program MeshLab and export mesh as .OBJ

Third, open this .OBJ in Pepakura Designer.

    That's all.
    Cheers

Oh totally awesome! Thanks for the file! You are totally the best. Isn't there a button somewhere to increase your rep? Seriously. I'm super grateful.

    Oh, thanks =)

Front shell is done now, and I'm going to buy some resin.
The rest of parts will be not so interesting, they're much less complicated =)

Are you sure the round shells are the difficult part? I thought this would be the easiest part since there are no tiny corners. I made a 20cm pepakura companion cube and the worst part were the small pink lines and prefolding all the tiny flaps.

I wonder how you will make the claws. maybe it is easier to use a thick plastic plate and use the pepakura prints just as a template to cut them.

    I ENJOY THIS.

Seriously though, looks great! How are you gluing it together? It looks very clean.

And unlike me you had a base cube inside for better stability. It was a bad idea to only cut the pepacura parts, sometimes you just need some kind of stable skeleton. Also i need thicker paper next time.

Will you also reinforce the parts from the inside with fiberglass? Might be difficult if you glue the barrel together already.

Hallo from Bulgaria Just started this awesome project, and i was wondering is there a substitute for resin because it's pretty expensive here, for the price of 50ml i would build 2 more portal guns. Can i use papier mache or just something else that is cheaper that would not bend the model while drying.10x a lot

Hi, to open PDO file you need Pepakura Designer or Viewer

    Good luck!
