Hello again!

So after finishing my Symbiote Suit build and having so much fun with it I quickly came to the conclusion I needed a new suit. Apart from the very mixed reviews and thoughts on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie, I quite liked it. Best part was the suit... obviously. So I've spent the past couple of months looking into fabrics and putting together the pattern to be as screen accurate as possible while not being too hard to piece together or too expensive overall. I've been making some good progress lately and figured it was time to put a thread together on here.

Here's where I'm at so far:

Here are the fabrics that I had finally settled on. The red is extremely hard to take good pics of with my crappy phone camera but it looks quite great in person. The blue also is very dark in this pic but I too am quite happy with how they go together. Here are just the patterns I put together and printed out (chest, belt, mask)

Traced the pattern onto the red and did a quick hand-stitch to throw it over the faceshell and toss on the old lenses just to see how it looks. Not too shabby.

Here's the chest piece. Applied the brick pattern with a fabric marker. Fun times!

This was my test at doing the chest spider with puffy paint. Pretty happy with it.

Since I settled on doing the chest spider with puffy paint I traced (painted over a cutout) the emblem onto foam and cutting it out as a stencil.

So that's currently where I'm at. Next I plan to paint the actual spider on the chest and do all the webbing. More coming soon

So I was playing around with the stencil to delay actually doing it cuz I'm terrified of ruining the chest piece and hours of applying the brick pattern if I mess it up

All set to go

Paint applied. Now the painfully scary process of peeling it off

Success!

Webbing done. Waiting for it to dry now and hope the colour turns out the way it's supposed to

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see more progress! By the way, I really like that red fabric. What is it? Lycra/nylon/satin?

Looks great! I might be missing something here but how did you transfer your patterns over to the fabric, specifically the brick pattern?

How did you apply the webs? I'm about to start working on my Kino print when it gets here, and I really like how your webs look.
