Zabana´s Iron Man WIP - BOOTS FINISHED - Page 13 (NEW LEG PAGE 14)

How do the upper and lower parts of the palm attach together without the use of magnets?
Whats the best method of articulating the fingers at the pivot points or do you just glue them to a glove of some sort?

People use to add magnets or velcro or something like that, mine works with a positive-negative in each part that fits in to the another securing it, anyway an extra help to it will be needed in certain cases. And about the fingers I joint them with a nylon fishing wire, so I drilled a small hole in each one to pass through that wire.

Hope it helps ;)

Thankyou I'll have to give it a try when I'm able.
I had a go at your pep ..hope I did ok.

Thanks it's been a while since I've pepped anything.
Won't lie I didn't find this easy and it took me 2 attempts to get it to this stage. Cant believe 3 pages of pep would take almost an entire day. Worth it though. Will give it a coat of resin or 2 then call it a day I think.

The hand is the most difficult pep I created ever, but its detail worth the job, also there is less work with bondo and such, once you have it hard just spray over it a filler and you´ll be almost directly in the spoot putty level :D

Well, as the tittle said I am a spanish with a W.I.P...

Zabana Hello, I am Brazilian and I am starting to make an Iron Man helmet. I looked at all your posts, I've seen everything you've done.
What I wonder is the assembly process, after mounting the model with the role, what are the next steps?
Use fiberglass? Some kind of pasta? What goes inside and what goes out?
I hope you can help me with this initial information.
Thank Zabana.

Hey Zabana realy great work on all of those things you put up here. Your boots look great and i think i'm gonna take those for my build.
For the palm i think i might need a bit more experience :rolleyes but the day will come where i'll build these to complete my build.

also i want to say that all of those pics i've seen on this thread are soooo good:love
especialy the last ones of bigturc and carnage. realy nice work guys :eek

It depends, some people harden it with fiberglass plus resin, but I do prefer polyurethane resin inside, is faster and doesn´t smell at all ;)

After it is hard you´ll need to apply bondo on the outside to smooth it :thumbsup

Thanks a lot man!!!

Comments like yours push me on to continue building ;)

Hey, Zabana. Great work on everything, and I downloaded your hand files earlier this week. I tried pepping them, but this is my first attempt at pepping anything (I tried a helmet and failed miserably.. scaling these takes A LOT of trial and error O_O ), so it's a little daunting at first. I gotta ask though, once I get a helmet going, did you ever plan on releasing any notes on your voice-activated helmet? This is my first run at robotics, but I've gotta learn somewhere. I can get the servos and microcontroller that is needed, but when it comes to making it voice-activated, I dunno how to go about that. =/ Unless they provide documentation with the software?

Thanks, and again, love your work!

There will not be nothing as a tutorial, but time ago I said I needed an arduino and a VrRobot (voice module) just plug them together and do the code XD

Amazing work man, is it just the right hand tho?
Can´t understand the question, the files are the right hand if is that what do you asked, but you can flip the palm files and thumb finger to build the left one.

I don't think you can invert the pattern if you only have Pepakura Viewer.
