Last year I started a Doctor Malfatto Costplay but never did finish it. This year I set out to finish it up for Rose City Comic Con - Portland but ended up remaking most of it lol.
Check out my post from last year to see how I made the mask and where I started off from this year in more detail. http://www.therpf.com/f24/my-first-cosplay-malfatto-assassins-creed-doctor-195271
First here is last years and my primary reference:
Items I've redone for this year so far:
Aged my mask (before | after):
Re-did the hood, used a nicer heavier material for the outside and lined the inside (before | after):
Re-did the jacket, again used a much nicer heavier material and fitted it to my body (before | after):
Re-did the chest armor, lots of changes here (before | after):
Lastly I made the belt:
Here's a shot of me wearing it with the updated pieces:
Items left to do:
Make the bags for the belt
Make the hat
Make the gloves
Make the syringe
Make poison pods for the belt
Make the arm bands
Make the straps for the sides
Embroidery the medical symbol on the chest
Paint medical symbol on the bicep armor
Possibly re-do the shoulder armor time permitting
Wearing this thing turns out to be the equivalent of wearing an oven so I am thinking I might sew some pockets inside of it that I can put some ice packs into however I'm worried about how long they will last and if the condensation would cause wet spots to show. Does anyone else have ideas on ways to keep cool while wearing a heavy costume?
