No worries, Jason and I also talked to them about re-popping the 1/43 Exterior Post Van trailer too.

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

Well in sitting here eagerly awaiting my armature, it was time to resume playing around with this guy.
Working out the chin gun right now and some test placement of parts on the heads underside.
Sadly, there will be a tiny amount of liberties to be taken as the ref just doesnt exist...but it will be VERY minimal.
The chin gun mounts, ive made a couple of mock up styrene plates to the desired shape, this part is really testing us all, so for now, i may have to go with the scratched ones!

Weve made a few more ID's of late in the Hideout :lol, but not to worry, any of the guys on the group will be able to follow our lead via the build ups, which i feel will be easier than following the ref and spending the time researching!

I received my armature. Very nicely done and beautiful craftsmanship. Can't wait to start putting parts on it.

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

Lee, the chin gun mounts have got to be the gun cradle parts from the Tamiya 88mm FLAK, surely?

Cheers,
Martyn

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

They are indeed bud, it wasnt till after i made these up, we found them, and i really wanted those parts, so the lad did well LOL.

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

Man this thing is looking awesome. This is one of my favourite models although I do love anything 'Empire Strikes Back'. Much better looking than the 'Jedi' version. A man of much talent I must say.:love

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

This is where we really start to have fun, did a test build today on the armature, and i just had to place the noggin on!
Again a huge thanks to my good friend Allan Hansen for thinking up this insane and testing project, and Jason Eaton for mediating the armature fabrication, all those late night calls to "you know who" really did pay off buddy lol.

Lee, don't forget your eagle eye and part id skills! A true group effort that resulted in absolute magic! Look at how AWESOME that thing is!!!

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

Aww your too kind J lol, yeah she's a tough girl to ID, but were getting there, cant wait to see the other builds!

Bro, thanks man, its really elegant in the flesh, tall and slender, i need some rest as i just got in from work to test all this out, but i want to get a little done tommorow, then its back to the ID'ing dungeon...cant have it all my own way LOL.

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

Looks great Lee, percentage wise how much left do you have to ID? I really dont know how you do it bud, you must have the patience of a saint?

Re: ESB AT-ST scratch!

Guy, hell i have zero patience lol, i want it all now, it more borders on insanity, the man showing me the way here is Allan, he's made some finds that i think are superhuman lol....X ray spex and all that LOL.

Not sure % wise, but were damn close, just stragglers really as the TESB model, is a minefield of a build, there are sooo many crazy parts used on the prop, its like they splattered glue on her, and rolled her through a slew of kit parts while laughing maniacally :lol
