BTTF Red Cadillac toy test car - how to modify

I just purchased a friction car like the one Doc uses for his scale model in BTTF (mine is the first pic). I noticed they used a white panel to cover the electronics in the back seat, and I was wondering that that could be made from, for the replica.

They could've made a form (buck) and then vacu-form it with Syntra or other kind of plastic...

Or make it from plasticine and make a mould from it. Then use 2k polyurethane to make a plastic version.

Or carve one from balsa wood.

Anyone up for a 3D print project? Seems like it could be fairly easy, but I don't have one of those...
