IMHO,
The mostly forgotten Garfield special is FAR creepier and better than the snoopy one. I'm still kind of scared by grandfather clocks to this day because young me thought they summoned ghosts at 12 ;o).
As far as Thanksgiving Specials go, both are kind of...meh.
But, I kind of like the snoopy one better in this case.
As for Christmas Specials...
I think they are about tied.
THe snoopy one is a bit more special.
But the Garfield one is far better animated and has more of a family feel to it.
What's interesting about the garfield specials, is that even in the oldest one, the Halloween special, the music and animation and voices are pretty much identical to when the series started a few years later. so it's pretty obvious they kept the same team throughout. now that is loyalty!
