getting a flat and level back on a one piece mould?

Hi, I've tried a few methods of getting the back of moulds (badges in this case) as flat as possible- not finding it easy though. I put a sheet of plastic and a weight over them which is quite successful- however if its too quick it leaves airbubbles and too slow and the polyurethane resin has already hardened.
Any tips would be fantastic!
Thanks :)

That's how I do it, with a plastic sheet or a flat slab of silicone and a weight on top. I use a pressure pot to eliminate bubbles, works the same as a two part mold.

This piece was made with a silicone slab, fresh from the mold with no sanding.
