Not sure if this is the right place for this, but Im looking for something to use to make asphalt. Im making a stand for a 1:1 size statue, and the base floor needs to be asphalt..but,I dont want to use the real stuff since it would make it way too heavy and also hard to install LEDs in it.
any idea of what could be used ? Hoping for something that doesnt require mixing with water, since the base will be made out of wood.

have you considered using sand and resin? You could use resin as a base for adherance, then use a sand that is course enough to simulate the scale you are working in and pour it onto the uncured resin... when it dries, lightly sand away the excess and paint and weather it. If it is a larger scale you just use larger granules, like crushed granite or something like that. Then spray a clear matte to finish it off.

Depend of what kind/look of asphalt you want, but check different grits of sandpaper and when you find it, paint it black, then brush it lightly with talcum powder (used look if you want).
