Hey guys,
So I've been working on a Marvel Now Captain America helmet for my buddy Mike, aka PunisherMike for a couple months now. I started with a 3D model of his head, that I built from some pictures of his life cast. I then modeled a helmet to fit his head, and rough proportions.
I've since printed it at work, on our 3D printer, and have since been fusing the pieces together, filling, sanding, priming and sanding. Rinse and repeat. The final helmet will be cast in tinted urethane rubber with the A and Wings done by brushing in some aluminum powder into the mold recesses for those parts.
Chin cup will be cast in 45d resin to give some flex, but still remain "tough" and "guard-like"
Here are some pics that will take you through a visual journey to where I'm at now..
3D rendering...
Printing begins...
Raw print fused together...
Where I'm at so far...
