Hi guys, new to RPF. After lurking here for months and watching countless youtube videos, I've decided to start off my first project by making just the Iron Man Helmet. I'll probably be posting updates daily to share my experience and get help from experts, and also to motivate myself.
Using Sharkman's pepakura helmet cutout, I was able to assemble most of the helmet together. I forgot to print out the Edge ID, so the assembly was pretty hard at times, but at the end I was just like 'ah f it, I'll just glue everything together.'
As shown below, it turned out ok. I've made a few modifications in order to fit my irregular head better and also leave some room for future improvements in case I want to install hinges and servos.
Tomorrow, if the weather permits, I'll be going outside and paint it with some fiberglass resin I bought. If I do it in my balcony, would I still need a respirator? Or would a regular dust mask be ok? Thanks.
