I haven't built a model in 35 years, so my son and I got a fighter airplane paper model book.
It is a kid book so it says use white glue or glue stick.
What kind of glue do expert paper modelers use?
Fast drying without warping the paper.
I love building paper models and use Tacky Glue. I use a wooden toothpick on the end as an applicator. A little bit of it goes a long way and will adhere pretty quickly. However if you do pile on a large amount of it you will see some issues with paper warping even when using 60 or 80lb cardstock. Sometimes if I am gluing a large area I will use a glue stick like UHU. You could also use Super Glue but getting your fingers stuck to the paper is always an issue unless you are careful.
