Working ALIEN mask

I worked on SEED with Pete.
I acted in a few of the pred suits at various times, and wore an alien suit once.
I'm also the guy who gets busted at the begining of the movie.
The movie really was alot of work.
So sad that the movie never had all the scenes shot for it.
It was meant to be much longer.
Each year at dragon con I look for boot leg copies of it.
Ive picked up a couple.

I hope my wife doesn't see that thing. She'll buy one and kick me to the curb, no need for me anymore !

Sweet mask.

VERY cool! I don't recall any movie alien having movable lips

Actually the first two movie heads had moving lips... for the first movie, the lips and tendons were "shredded condoms" over a wire armature. This was built by Carlo Rambaldi and had various animatronic features. I believe you see the lips skin-back over the teeth on at least two occasions in the final movie.

For ALIENS, there was a "puppet" Alien which had very thin insectlike limbs, and I believe lips as well. You see this briefly when it's about to attack Burke I believe.

In ALIEN3, at least the prototype puppet had lips, and almost human-looking lips at that. I'm not sure if the Alien was seen to have lips in the show itself though.

as much as I find the Alien design very boring, I really have to admit that the craftsmanship amazed me.

Cool work!:thumbsup

How can I get one of these? Is there a group that builds them out there with the knowhow?

Another awesome item from another talented person. That's nearly identical to the movie.

Kim and I had our Preds in SEED as well. Like Scott said, the original script ended up much different and more fluid than the final film, because he couldn't get all the stuff filmed he needed to in the time limit he had as he was constantly getting pushed by internet people to get it done and up online.

Pete's talent is amazing at scratchbuilding stuff like that Alien mouth. He also used to make animatronic Predator mandibles that would move by torn apart remote controls from zipzap radio controlled cars worn in the glove of the costumer. The actual Predator movies used guys offscreen with remote controlled mandible movement, but Pete figured it out to be self contained by the costumer.

By the way, the practical effects in SEED were all done live on set, the pyro and Predator vision were not cgi.

I agree. The inner jaws in the movies snap in and out way too quickly. This looks much more organic. And it's really cool that he's controlling it with his own jaw movements.

You can poke somebody with a bullet while you hold it in your hands with your fingers and it won't hurt their skin one bit. Now shoot it out of a gun...

Same thing with the inner jaw. It would need to shoot out at lightning speed to punch through a person's skull as was portrayed in the movies.

Sure, but the movie versions... or should I say AFTER ALIENS - 3, 4, & AvP versions - still look stupid with how they move in and out. This fan-made one doesn't.
