Work-In-Progress Vader

Hello,

I just wanted to share some pictures of my work-in-progress ESB Vader. I have been piecing him together for the past couple of years, and now I only need to add the tusks, purchase a codpiece, and build a belt for him to finally be complete.

Progress has been slow lately due to real world necessities, but at least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Also, this is not a finished display, but constructive criticism is always welcome. If you would like to see more pictures, please visit my website.

NICE.

Everything you've got so far (the components) looks fantastic.

I'll wait until he's finished before I comment on the display.

Congrats.

"Crap... Crap.. Crap....."

:p No really, that is an AWSOME Vader get up. I love ho you have the mask set PERFECTLY behind the armor. Nice paint job too. :thumbsup Makes me want to finish mine up.

Great work.

He seems to have real bulk to him.
(sadly lacking in many of other Vaders)

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Looks great.............

Is that a JB helmet? Where did you get that ESB box from it looks very accurate.

Can't wait to see it finished.

Yes, the helmet is a JB and the chestbox is from GINO.

That's a Gino box for sure.

EDIT: Oops. Just noticed that Eddie already mentioned it was a Gino. Sorry for being so unobservant Eddie. :)

Wow . this is a really nice display. :thumbsup :)
I think you can let this helmet like that If you like it a lot with this position.
Anyway I would do something different about the helmet position (It's a question of taste)
I prefer when the neck in almost on the armor. I would try this :

Great setup, Eddie...I'd tilt the armor back a bit and ya as someone mentioned place the helmet higher with respect to the armor...otherwise looks like Vader has a shorter neck. Nice combination of components :thumbsup What kind of armor? Nice to see another Vader showoff thread :).

Thanks for the critique. Now, do you mean tilting the front lip forward? If I tilt the front of the armor towards the mannequin, the shoulders will rise up. If I tilt the back of the armor, the front lip will pull away from the body. I am confused as to which one is more correct.

I can try to get the helmet to sit more on the armor itself and see how I like it. I have seen pictures both ways, so I will have to see which one I prefer. Being that the mannequin is pretty tall, I do not want Vader to look like he is looking up. It would be hard to get a good look at his mask if you were a shorter person. If I tilt it down, I think I would need the armor to be out of the way.

BTW, the armor is from GH.

Hi eddie vader :) , the armor and helmet position are the most difficult part in a vader display.
Let us know what you try to do.
I didn't do something 100% screen accurate on my display because my armor is not really shaped for the helmet.
My display is a ROTJ style so I have the cape hook, anyway the neck position on the armor is almost the same on the ESB & ROTJ version.
This is a pic of what I did on my display(even with a small gap It looks good on the full costume)
