Wooden Light Saber

Ok, so I am new and starting a couple of threads to show all of you a few of my past years projects. I am new to the prop replica hobby, so be gentle :confused

The wooden Light Saber was made for my father for christmas last year. He is a brilliant man, and an incredible master of carpentry, so I thought this would be something different. I have since made several others as gifts to my nephew and other friends.

Very cool! Makes me wonder how it would look with the main body stained with a light shade and the "grips" stained with a darker shade (to provide a little contrast) while leaving the metal "greeblies" their natural color.

Done! That will be the very next thing I try, in addition to adding a Light Blade perhaps. thanks man!

Looks amazing!!!

It is the only wooden saber I have seen, so it's definitely original. I like it :)

Did you end up varnishing it or sealing it in any way? I live in the armpit of the south, so the humidity would destroy that thing in a week if it wasn't sealed somehow.

Very nice work!
Chris
