The news just ran a story that Corey Haim has died from a drug overdose. Good lord, the Corey's were train wrecks. Sad ending for sure.

He had every chance to turn things around. I feel bad for his family, the people who loved him that he left behind, and his fans, but I'm not sad.

I wish his life had ended differently, I am sad that he chose time and time again to make the bad choices he made.

No big loss is a pretty messed up thing to say. They guy had friends and family. It's a sad thing when someones life is overtaken by drugs and they never get out of that rut and end up in the grave. 38 years old isn't a long life by any means and it's a shame he never got control.

A friend of mine recently lost her drug addicted son who was only 22... I know the struggles she went through trying to help him and watching him suffer - and he wanted to get clean and just couldn't figure out how to make it happen and/or get over his pain.

It's sad when anyone takes this route and misses out on the joys of life and the potential they could have had.

RIP

People make mistakes, some times small and some times large. I feel bad for those that do, worse for those who do not realize it or won't acknowledge such. Life is a continual education whether some want to believe so or not. Most of those who die like this never realized their potential or how to bring about that potential. That along with the loss others close to them then have to suffer is heartbreaking.

I really can never work myself up to being all that sad when a famous person kills themselves with drugs. Having so much at their fingertips, making the decision to just constantly shoot themselves up with something or popping pills until they're dead is something they bring on themselves.

Maybe I'm confused... the last I'd seen, it was Haim that had cleaned himself up and was married and Feldman that was crashing on their couch. Maybe I have them reversed....

Anyway, while I'm not surprised that either of them would wind up like this (it seems the near-inevitable fate of child stars), it's still sad when one considers that he was still a human being who had family and people who cared for him.

Yeah, turns out I had them reversed.

He was in bed for a few days at his mom's with flu-like symptoms.. he may have been trying to kick whatever drug(s) had ahold of him. some people just struggle epically to overcome their addictions and fail.we'll have to see what the autopsy concludes.

I woud hardly say that Haim had "So much at his fingertips". the dude was barely scraping by. Yes, he had some hit movies, but hollywood is a fickle mistress. I feel nothing but sadness for him.

Though he may have made some poor choices, he was nothing but a product of an industry known for chewing up and spitting people out.

I am with street judge on this one. It is bad to speak ill of the dead, but honestly, should I care about a guy who did something 20 years ago and nothing since? He didn't care about himself, why should we?

Aren't you more shocked that he lived this long?
