WHO ARE MRs Master Artisans?

The new ads for the Tric and Assault Phasers boast.

"carefully handcrafted by MRs master artisans. "

Who are these folks?

Chinese school children?

HMS?

I am fairly sure all of the MR products are made in China. :confused
Maybe they are talking about the prototypes?

Unless they've got 500 mini Matt Munson clones over there, I think it's over stating it just a tad.

"master artisans" ?!?!?

Matt have you been selling your clones to China again?

Mic, I think that is one of the best posts I have ever seen on this forum. :lol

My guess is that they had the design work done ages ago, back when the "old guard" was working there, and it's just taken them this long to bring stuff to market. Either that, or they paid a competent prop house in LA to make them, and sent the results to China and said "make these".

I see that Term used online for everything from painting & woodworking, to cooking, beer making and lawn care.

As for MR...A company putting what they sell in the best light they can...what the heck are they thinking. :rolleyes

well i heard they have ray charles and stevie wonder on the books, if thier lastest products are anything to go by, eg fett lid

I saw Greg J Phaser when it was at COMIC CON. (it was not publicly displayed, it was in the back)

I cant remember if they had just got it back from CHINA, or if Greg had just given it to them.

I think they had just got it from Greg.

WHats IRONIC, is that Im not sure it was one of Gregs FIRST Phasers, or if it was the KNOCK OFFS Greg Bought at a convention, repainted, used in one of the ST films, (thus making it an "original") or if it was one of the ones he built in the first place.

Everyone know that story?

Frank

I think I like the sound of mini-Munson better. Or micro-Matt. Or Mattlet. :lol

Seriously, there's only ONE Munson for all your prop needs...

My guess is that they farm out the prototype to the appropriate experts say HMS for Star Trek tricorder then take it to Paramount. Negotiate a licensing agreement then meet with folks in China to mass produce.

Yes I think we all know the process they go through. Certainly the prototyping and masters are done here.

But I just don't remember any of their ads saying that sort of thing before.

I was hoping they had used a US resource to make these instead of China, which seems to take forever and not really return the best result.

I guess I feel labeling a Chinese factory as "master artisans" is stretching the point too much.

According to Entertainment Earth the new assault phaser and Mark IX tricorder will not be in stock until October. Of course, that could be because each piece is being hand made, one at a time, by these highly skilled artisans.:lol

Seriously though... These have been in the works for two years and we still have to wait until October to get these pieces?

Sure would be nice get a response FROM MR about this.

Amy still around? Or did their Customer Service die with Corgi?
