Where to buy fiberoptics?

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for places to buy fiber optic cable? I'm sure I could find someplace online, but looking for a place someone has actually dealt with, so I know I can trust them (at least to some extent). Or, if buying locally, where would I look?

I'm working on a big project, and will need quite a bit of it. :)

check around town for an electronics surplus shop. In Los Angeles there is All Electronics. For small fiber optics I have scavenged some happy new year hats at $1 each. Ive also gotten lucky at APEX in San Pornando/NoHo for large cables.
 
Cheap for short strands, find some fiberoptic lights at a party store, Walmart or what not...

There are tons of Ebay sellers, several of them with perfect feedback... I have purchased some on Ebay over the years and never been disappointed...

fiberopticstore, there are good people ,done business with them several times ,fast shipping too...and great prices on theres with several different mm or just one large order size mm,depending on what you might want.......Guy
 
Micro-Mark also carries them. Plus, buying from them gets you a monthly catalog with other cool stuff they sale.
 
For local I'd try a hobby store that specializes in model rail roads. There is lots of lighting and electronics in that realm.
