Found out a few months ago that my friend MADE that sword :confused
He still has the wax sculpt used to made the mold. Awesome sword.

So your friend is
Jody Samson?

Nope.
Mish made the Father's, no others.

Hmm, can you elaborate on this?
Cinefantastique Vol. 12, No. 2-3, states that the FatherÂ’s (or MasterÂ’s) sword was first designed on paper by Ron Cobb. Then the hilt/handle/pommel for the prototype was sculpted by Tim Huchthausen in clay & wax, & later cast in bronze. Then the blade was made by Jody Samson.
Filmswords.com attributes the entire "original Father's sword" to
Ron Cobb & Jody Samson, & the FIRST photo in the gallery on Samson's
website features this piece. Samson's
bio repeats this claim in the first paragraph (stating that Huchthausen worked on the Atlantean only).
If all this is wrong, then someone has some 'splainin' to do...
Having worked in several armouries for big films I can assure you that that sword was not made by one person, regardless of who was credited for it. Especially on a big budget film like Conan, there would have been a designer, a sculptor, a leather worker, a model maker, a blade maker, a fabricator, a painter, an etcher... Etchist? And I'll bet a student for the polishing... Some of these May have been done by more than one person, but it's more common place for all of these roles to be filled by different people!
in other news, my fave, heimdalls sword from Thor 2, the version in the first Thor was total shonk!
