What is that gun? Bioshock Infinite "Beast of America" trailer.

At the very start of the trailer there is a callback to the airplane prologue in the original Bioshock. The protagonist (Booker DeWitt) receives a cigar box with a gun, photograph, and written letter the same as the original Bioshock. Then a kickass track cuts in by Nico Vega kicks in called _Beast_.

My question is, what pistol is that? I thought it was a Mauser like the one we all know from the HSB, but it looks small.

Thoughts, please.

It looks like a Mauser C96 varient. I do not think it is a real world weapon, more likely to be a C96 with greeblies attached.

Blue2k got it right. It's a mauser c96 with custom grips and stuff attached to it. The magwell/frame looks to be a bit flared as well.

Admitted lurker here. I LOVE bioshock but know very little about identifying firearms. That said, I'm definitely going to be buying a C96 in the future.

Yup, definitely a C69. Wrom what it looks from here, it indeed has custom grips, flared/reinfrced magwell, weirldy curved trigger, reinforced hammer, extended(flared?) charging handle, and that weird thingy on the side.

Why, yes, I think I might have looked at C96's for too long.

So who's going to start molding these Mauser add-ons for BioShock Infinite costumes? I may start a search for "real world" parts to create this thing. Booker (the main character) also uses an unaltered Colt Navy 1851 revolver (easily found replica).
